Connection with others draws us out of ourselves. Community gives us a perspective we miss when we’re isolated and focused on the day-to-day events and responsibilities of our lives. As we settle into the group, we feel a deep sense of belonging and acceptance. Inside the community we find peace and permission to simply be ourselves. We find the space to respond to the world with compassion and caring.

We accept others as we learn to accept ourselves. Compassion multiplies as we receive the caring of others and begin to support those around us. We find a new appreciation for our bodies, our minds, and our circumstances as we respond with gentleness and warmth.

Kristin’s Story

In 2008, my mom invited me to my first Bikram yoga class. I wasn’t really looking for transformation. At age 34, I was healthy, had a wonderful husband, two lovely children, and a convenient job. My life was good, but I wasn’t enjoying it. I felt overwhelmed and lost in the chaos of my life.

My first class left me feeling better than I had in a long time. Lighter, clear headed, amazing. I knew I’d found something powerful. I went to class three times that first week, even though it wasn’t easy. I knew yoga would change my life forever. I balanced a 90 minute class with the demands of my job, family, and already busy life.

Why? Because the benefits made the sacrifice worth the effort. I was more present with the people I loved, less overwhelmed, and more confident. I discovered strength I didn’t know I had and the ability to show up in a way that was kind and balanced.

My journey included Bikram Yoga Teacher training as a way to share what I’d found with others. In 2011, Bikram Yoga Exton was born and my dream of sharing yoga came true. We grew into a thriving community of people changing their lives for the better.

Orange Lotus is the next step in the journey. We’re deepening our practice and experience of yoga to embrace new practices and challenge ourselves with expanded class offerings including Inferno Hot Pilates and Yin. The dynamics are changing, but our foundation of confidence and community remains the same.

Come for the challenge. Come for the community. Whatever your reason, just come to the mat. Trust us to guide you and help you find the vitality, strength, and confidence to fully enjoy your life.

There was a time when I was juggling a career and family and needed something that would improve my overall physical and mental well being. In 2000, I found Bikram yoga and it was exactly what I was looking for. I couldn’t believe how quickly it changed my life.

By the end of my second class there was a measurable difference in how I felt. The sweating, the mental focus, and the inner and outer strength building that I found in the Bikram practice, I couldn’t find anywhere else.

This yoga was more powerful than anything I had ever tried and continues to bring joyful moments, calm, and intentionality to my life on a daily basis.

My desire to help others find more ease and levity in their lives led me to Bikram yoga teacher training in 2010. Come find out how you too, can experience a lighter way of being.

My knees were killing me after years of running and I had a neck injury that doctors wanted to operate on. I didn’t want surgery and was looking for something to help manage the pain.

The heat in Bikram yoga was a game changer.

A few months into my practice I had better range of motion in my neck and the pain was manageable. The numbness and tingling in my hand had gone away. My knees felt better and I was more agile. This practice helped me avoid surgery, keep my neck pain away, and manage other aches and pains.

Bikram hot yoga literally helped me create space in my neck and my body, and it turns out, this yoga also created space in my life. The practice taught me how to slow down, it taught me that it is OK to focus on myself. I learned to let go of what was not serving me, therefore creating space in my life for what was truly important.

My yoga practice allows me to enjoy my life and live pain free – I’m on a mission to help others do the same. I love helping new students discover the life changing possibilities that come with a consistent practice.

I’ve been a runner my whole life. It was my main form of exercise and I loved it, but my body was tight and sore and my lower back hurt from the constant pounding. I knew I needed to change it up.

I knew stretching would help me, and attempted to stretch on my own but was never able to be consistent with it.

Then I found BYX. The heat in a Bikram yoga class made all the difference. I could literally feel my muscles saying thank you and the community support kept me consistent.

My body feels more balanced and stronger than it ever has and I rarely ever have lower back issues. Best of all, I am part of a wonderful community of people and have made great friends who are a source of joy and support in my life.

Running is still part of my life thanks to my yoga and Inferno Hot Pilates practices. Teaching Inferno Hot Pilates gives me the chance to help students cultivate a stronger, more balanced body so they can continue to do the things they love.

I struggled with sciatic pain from a herniated disc and it impacted my entire life. I couldn’t do my regular strength training, I couldn’t do my cardio workouts, I was miserable. I was told by several people I should try taking a yoga class.

I started Bikram Yoga in 2008 and it was nothing short of miraculous. Bikram yoga was all I needed to heal my back and change my life for the better. It was my physical therapy and workout all in one. To my own surprise just 2 years later I found myself at an advanced yoga training and my body was strong enough for it.

It was during the advanced training that I knew I had to share this practice with others and decided to become a teacher. I encourage my students to work hard so they too can reap the benefits of this amazing practice.

Bikram yoga, and now Inferno Hot Pilates, keep me physically strong enough to meet the demands of owning and operating a residential/commercial painting business. These practices allow me to fully participate in, and enjoy, all aspects of my life.

I’m the busy mother of 3 boys and when I get to take time for myself – it better count.

I tried numerous fitness classes at the gym, but nothing fit until I found Bikram yoga. It was so challenging that I had to tap into my mental strength as well as my physical strength.

The class gave me the tools to slow down and connect to my mind and my body for the first time. After just a few classes, I felt calmer and more relaxed. My friends and family started commenting on the positive changes they saw in me as well – I was less anxious, and more confident.

I started practicing for the physical workout, but now I practice for my mental health. A consistent yoga practice teaches you how to handle the ups and downs of life, how to remain comfortable in uncomfortable situations, and how to breathe effectively.

I love teaching and am on a mission to help people change their lives with this yoga. In my class I encourage students to work to their full potential with encouragement and no judgment.

I was a busy college student juggling my school work and multiple jobs. I love a good challenge but I struggled to stay focused and I felt like I was watching a version of myself run through my busy life, without being able to slow down enough to enjoy it.

My dad had been practicing yoga at Orange Lotus and thought it would help me. I loved it!

Every other “workout” experience that I had before Orange Lotus was highly competitive. I am a blackbelt in Taekwondo and I competed in horse shows throughout high school.

Yoga was the first time that my workout was not being charted or scored by anyone, it was simply a relationship that I could have with myself.

I felt amazing and thoroughly enjoyed the hot yoga and IHP classes. So much so that I would wake up at 4:45am and drive 45 min to take a 5:30am class. I could think clearly and I was present in the life I was living.

I went to IHP teacher training in Oct 2022 and my goal when I teach is to give you the best workout possible. I want you to leave feeling better than ever with a positive mindset that will carry you through the rest of the day!

I had a knee injury that never got proper therapy and unrelenting daily back pain that made me inflexible and limited my mobility.

Practicing in the heat and doing each posture twice was different than anything I had ever done, and I felt better after my first couple of classes.

I could move around better at work without my knee locking up and I was more confident because I felt stronger.

The coolest part about the practice was that for the first time ever, it was fun to participate in group exercise. I realized how important it was to be surrounded by a supportive, motivational community.

The physical benefits of the practice were huge for me, but it would be impossible for me to put a price on the psychological benefits. This yoga has given me a means to process the stresses and challenges of life.

I love helping my students find the freedom that comes from feeling good in their own bodies.

In 1997, after months of sitting at a desk in the library studying for the New York bar exam, I was looking for something to help me recharge physically and mentally. Yoga was the answer.

Then, in 2011, I had two nagging injuries in my hip and shoulder from my high impact exercise routines that had not improved with cortisone shots, physical therapy, or extended rest.

Bikram hot yoga was the answer. My first class was exhilarating and exhausting and intriguing all at the same time, so I went back every day for the next two months. After four months, both injuries had almost completely resolved and I have not looked back.

The combination of heat and therapeutic postures has been a consistent source of healing, energy, and equilibrium in my life ever since.

I focus on alignment and meditation in my practice and in my teaching. I help my students discover the healing aspects and the energizing benefits of a consistent yoga practice.

After having my children I was looking for something to help me feel better physically.
I’m not a runner and don’t like a typical “gym” atmosphere, but I get empowered by others’ energy and like being with other people. Yoga was the perfect fit!

This yoga practice helped me feel good in my body and helped relieve the stresses that come with trying to balance family, career, and young children.

The welcoming community, the heat, and the consistency of the Bikram practice were exactly what I needed.

After one week of practicing I found myself rearranging my schedule to get to class. This studio is my sanctuary and being part of this yoga community has made me a better parent, and brought confidence and focus to my life.

I love helping my students embrace both the challenge of each class and the peaceful effects that come from a regular practice.
